MWS - Infographic project

Infographics are really handful tools in teaching people due to its colorfulness and creative ideas within it, and I use it in a project in grade 9 alongs with other 10th graders. Our teacher shows us how the infographics look like, and how he wants ours to be. The project was given around a month ago before this blog is created. After all those infographics we have watched, we started off with deciding the works for each of our group members are supposed to do. There are four members in the group. Three of them takes the research roles while I take the creating and editing infographic role. Our topic was about Energy, and we got around 21 to 30 days to finish it. We mainly focus on our topic, its history, types of energy, or even energy in the future. Although we didn’t plan well at first, but we are able to produce a work with total of our effort at the end. We take around 3 weeks in researching for information and we seem to be glad about it. Some information are wrong, some are not. While we were working, we had a little quarrel as well but it keep us to be together and understand each other more. After that quarrel, the works seem to be getting fine and the researches are all done. We leave the most important job to one person in our group, creating an infographic but that doesn’t mean we didn’t help her at all. In the end, I help generate the ideas of the infographic and the whole thing was completely cramped up in the last day. My works are research and editing the infographic the night before the due date. It sounds a little funny, but we still doing it 15 minutes before the deadline(but our work is pretty good though)
What we need to create in an infographic. Infographics are the tools created by using software or online programs in order to create simple or creative shapes of arts in order to let the readers easily understand them. They are mainly created by programs and most of them takes a long period of time to create them. It being created by technology nowadays. Eventually, our infographic still has some mistakes in it. If we compare ours to the other, the shapes are not simple enough and the words are still too long. However, it has a timeline which makes it easier to understand it, and the organizations are pretty well-done too.
Infographics are now really popular among the internet world. Some of you might have guessed it already, and because its simpleness and creativity lead them to become this popular. Not only they are easy to understand, but some of them are fun to read as well. I’d recommend you who are reading this to try and create one of them. It’d be nice, and here's my infographic. We use Picktochart to create an infographic, and it'd be great if you use it too. Here's the link

The Shinto brother and sister

When I was a child, I used to live in Japan with my older sister. We used to be playing around and have fun like normal brother and sister do, until we got a company to move to America because of the nuclear bomb. Now I'm moving back to Japan once again to meet my sister who I've not met so long. Her name is Mamori, Mamori Shiranai. Her name came from a charm in her beliefs. She said it's worn for aid in healing and protection or for some other purposes too. I had been living in America for so long and now my sister will guide me through Japan and their beliefs also. My name is Shinto, like Shintoism the Japanese beliefs of living gods. My sister teaches me that Shintoism is about how we believe that gods are everywhere around us. Even in the trees, animals, or even in our words. The belief are also about to be clean as well. Although I'm not quite interest in this stuffs, but she tries her best to guide and introduce me to the beliefs, so I will endure it for a while (I think Christianity is better). She said we have to enter the Shrine through the Tori Gate first (which is the religious symbol). The Shrine is an important place of this religion, so the maidens have to clean it up (includes as a practice; others are offerings, praying, and dancing). She said they mustn’t be sluggish in their works so she sweeps the shrine everyday she's free. She said she doesn't want to bring blame to the teachings so she asked me not to spread Christianity too much (I was a little confuse about it). Sadly it has no historical founder like Christianity and it also has too many rules like we cannot become angry although the others are angry, or do not forget your obligations to your ancestor. She said we're the Kami's child, but I started to get bored so I asked her to guide me around the cities instead. She seemed a bit depressed though. After I've finished all the tours and the time I've spent with my sister, I've to go back to America again. Before I go, my sister dragged me nearby her mouth. She whispered into my tiny ears "we're the Japanese. Do not.. carried away ... ..reign teachings" I couldn't hear it clearly, but I will remember it for the rest of my life.

Historical changes in population (demographic shifts)

In the old time back then, the world population is growing normally as it should be. Then the population began to become unstable or be naturally growing as it supposes to be. The reasons might be that some people might die from disease, and some might die from accidents. Also that includes “terrorism” and “thieves” also.
The oldest terrorism would be assassinations which happen in around before 13th century. The terrorism in this era doesn’t count as a huge murders and troubles for many people. However, in the 1793, the original of the modern world terrorism began here. Whoever study in Middle School or High School should all know the “French Revolution”. In French Revolution, there is a guy name “Maximilien Robespierre” who executed many people in that era. He used a machine call “the guillotine” executed many people who were against him. For more information about Maximillien Robespierre, you can go to the link I recommended right HERE.
The terrorisms have changed the population in the past and still existing until the early time in 21th century. Obviously that the terrorisms killed many people and many times people lost their money and their properties. Imagine that they have almost nothing after the disaster, what would happen to them? Will they migrate to another country? Find a better job? What will they do for their relatives that die from the terrorism attack? The 9/11 event can clearly show us on how the population, economy and the resources has dropped from one suicide-attack from Osama bin Laden.

Future Migration

Future Migration
Migrations mean the movement from place to place. It basically means moving from one place to another. The word migration mostly use in move to another country, or another region, or even inside your country. It began since the world separated into many regions call “continents” and “countries” up until now. There are many people who try to predict what or how the migration in the future will occur based on the existing data that we have.
If people have no jobs? :
From what I’ve got from my research on the economy, America is the largest and the most technologically powerful economy in the world. Although I didn’t research, I believe that most of us will already know. The country itself creates even new and better products. From the others’ point of views on America, it’d be the best country to go if you can’t find a job, money, trusted friendship, and many other good things. Many people really believe that it’s the best country in the world. Even now, many foreigners migrate to America to find jobs. I believe that even in the future, more and more people will migrate to America. They will be fine, and able to find jobs there.
If Thailand’s flood situation hasn’t gone done yet? :
Now I’d like to talk about Thailand’s future migration. In the year 2011 or currently right now, Thailand faced a flood crisis problem which caused a lot of problems to many citizens and dramatically to economy and government. Government gave citizens the wrong information on the time that flood will be coming to 4-5 times or even more than that. That makes the reason for why many citizen started to not believe in their information, but the information that they’ve gained by seeing the real situation themselves. Many schools are closed due to currently flood situation. Indeed no one can travel easily around in this kind of situation. Even my school has to close. Many foreigners have migrated, or in the other words go back to their home countries. The situation is not easy to change back and too hard to pay for the destruction of citizen’s property itself. Many Thais went to another countries and wait for the situation to cool down. I’m also live in Thailand, and I hope it will really get better soon.
What about other countries? Like Ireland with problems and China with overpopulation?
Many migrations and trades will keep happening in the future. Ireland currently has many people migrated to another countries due to the problems that they couldn’t find a jobs nor good food in their countries. China is currently trying to fix the overpopulation problems. Many people already migrated due to the type of government or communism because they want to be richer, or gain more money, or find themselves better jobs. However, in the end I’m still believe that in the nearby future, or even the far away future, America will have more and more population because of the reasons I did mention in the 1st paragraph.

20th century mass migration from global south to global north

20th century mass migration from global south to global north
In the long time ago, there was a huge migration from Southern America to Northern or Eastern America called “The Great Migration”. The Great Migration was the movement or migration of more than 6 million people to North America. Most importantly all 6 million people are not an ordinary people, their skins are black. Yes, they are the 6 million blacks who moved to the global north.

The whole migrations causes from just one person, Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863. He proclaimed an executive order which is called “Emancipation Proclamation” in 1863. It proclaimed a freedom of almost 3.1 million out of the total slaves number four million, and immediately free fifty-thousand slaves after the proclamation. When it was signed in the 1863, less than eight percent of the blacks were living in the north part of America or USA. Then thirty-seven years later in 190s0, the situations haven’t changed much yet. There are still more than ninety percent living in the Southern part of United States of America.
Between 1910s to 1930s, the African American population grew by 40% in the Northern America. More importantly those changes of population were highly happened in the major cities such as Chicago, Detroit, New York city and Cleveland. Those cities had some biggest increases in the early 20th century. Now those blacks who were free from slaves system, they gained rights to have a jobs, gain their lands, and able to migrate to Northern America. They were once live in the urban before, and now they were able to move into the cities, in the Northern America. There is also an estimation that more than 400,000 women migrated to the Northern America since 1916 to 1918. They took this chance to take an advantage of a labor shortage in the wage of World War I. However, this event leads to major changes of population in Northern and Southern America’s population.
In 1910s, the African-American population in Detroit was only 6,000. Then the Great migration and other migration from Eastern and Southern Europe began. These events changed the city’s population dramatically, and it became Northern America’s fourth largest in population. After that around 20 years, African-American population increased to 120,000.
In 1900, Chicago has a total population of 1,698,575. Then twenty years passed, in 1920 Chicago’s total population had increased by 1 million. From the free of slaves in 1863, it can change so much in the populations. After the second wave of the Great Migration in 1940 to 1950, the African-American numbers has increased again from 278,000 to 813,000. That make a huge different from before, and those population live in the cities.
The Great Migration also helps out in educated blacks people. When they are educated, they will be able to find jobs and money, or even have a family. Between 1910 and 1920, numbers of employed blacks are doubled from 500,000 to 901,000. A free of slave gave freedom to every single black.

Migration of Chinese people to Thailand

Migration of Chinese people to Thailand

In Thailand, there are many people that actually are not Thai people who are still currently live in Thailand. Americans, Japanese, foreigners, but most of them are from China. We can see that some gold shop or even in the street or in the main shopping mall, there are Chinese people walking around. Many people who are not known of the Thai history may not know why so many Chinese came live in Thailand. Back then in the centuries, China has been trading with Thailand. Most of them are from Fujian and Guangdong. Both of them are in the south east of China which is near the ocean and makes trade and traveling a lot better. In the ancient time, not only that Thailand has been trading with China but also with Vietnam, Portugal, Spain, the Philippines, and Japanese as well.
China has been trading by first arrived at Ayutthaya in the thirteenth century. Most of them migrated to Thailand by using boats or ships. Some of them even got on the ship without paying the money. They came into Thailand with nothing, only their hardworking body. Some people might wonder why did they come even they have nothing? They also have reasons why they want to live in Thailand instead of China.
From what I’ve got from my research, in that time there was a corrupted of Qing Dynasty and the overpopulation problem or massive population increase in China. Taxes were highly increased, and jobs in China were harder to find. So most men were forced to leave their hometown to find works in order to feed themselves or feed their families. In 1825, Chinese populations in Thailand were 230,000. Then by 1932, Chinese population in Thailand dramatically increased like double to 792,000. That counts as 12.2%, the percentage of Chinese per total Thai population.
However, their population got decreased in the mean time. Between 1930s to 1950s, they were suffering discrimination under the military dictatorship Plaek Pibulsonggram. However, there are still Chinese people left today. In 1970s, they estimated that more than 90% of Chinese gain birth in Thailand also. They think that less than 200,000 people are the remains of Chinese people.
Many Chinese has come to Thailand to find jobs. Some of them succeed, and some of them not. Back then in the ancient time where it was the first time they came to Thailand. They have nothing, no money, or food, or even good clothes. It’s clearly shows us that they had been suffering from paying taxes or money problems in their countries, as I did mentioned in the paragraphs above.
They all start from those positions, the lowest one. As we know, Chinese lived in the hard and suffered environment which them or their habits to be a hardworking people. They started from physically working such as moving the crops that Thai people traded with China or any other countries, help with many things physically in the factory, but the main thing they do at first were using forces to carry something. They tried hard to gain more money, and finally become the owner of the job itself in the meantime. So many and more Chinese will come to Thailand in that time because many of them came here and find successful jobs.

Ireland: Population Pyramid and Demographic transition discussion

Ireland: Population Pyramid and Demographic transition discussion

This is a population pyramid of Ireland in the year of 2011. It shows the numbers of men and women in the Irish population. We can see that the graph is not perfectly a triangle. If the graph is a perfect triangle, it means the country’s population is stable. However, the population started to drop from the ages around 30-34 to ages of 0-4.  In 2011, Ireland has more old women more than old men. It seems to have the lowest population on the ages around 15-19, and the highest population around 30-34. From the information in the population pyramid above us, we can see that men’s populations are more than women’s in the ages of 0-70.  There seems to be more young men than young women. Apparently, more men are being born than women during these days. Also from what I’ve researched in the HPSC website, women seems to have more diseases th. The Diseases appear to be on Old men and women too, but it seems like most diseases seem to be happen on the ages around 10-14, and that is a reason for why the population started to fall down from those ages. In an old time, Ireland once had a problem on potato crops failure. Irish people eat potato as their foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So when potato crops failure event comes, more and more people starved or died from starving.

This is the information of birth rates, and death rates in different years that I got it from the Census website. I will use this to represent the demographic transition model. What’s Demographic transition model? It is a transition from high birthrate and death rate to low birth rate and death rate. As we can see in the graph above, in the next 4-14 years the birth rates will start to drops. Meanwhile the death rates start to increase a bit by bit. This obviously shows us that in the future, Ireland’s population might drop from a little to a huge numbers of them. The birth rate and death rate are not the only case why Ireland’s population might drop.
From What I’ve researched about, in 2009 more than 23,000 Irish people immigrate to Australia.  Ireland’s economy isn’t so good. One of the immigrants said that his father still has no jobs, but he will be alright”. Many people want to immigrate to another country to find jobs, money, and much other stuff.
Approximately around 10,000 people die each year from cardiovascular disease, and other circulatory disease. The largest numbers of death mainly base on heart attack. More importantly, it seems that 22% of the deaths are in young people (under age 65)
In many years ago, Ireland had a problem on Potato crops failure which leads an event to less population and immigrations. Many people start to immigrant because there is no food, nor works. Also in the graph about Demographic Transition, the death rate is higher than the birth rate. Both of them change bit by bit, and that’d also leads to a factor that less population of Ireland will surely happens.

This is my population pyramid that I made by myself.
